Good evening all!
Hope you’re having as much sunshine and joy as us Londoners- I just want it to stay like this forever… please?!
As I’ve said before, the sunshine brings out the best in me and every day I am doing so much I could write a blog an hour but then I would miss out on sun-time! So I thought I would share my week in pictures and I will extend and do some longer blogs on some of these activities – there will be a recipe or two coming at least!
I’m getting really into cooking soups – this is Leek & Potato |
After a remarkably short trip to IKEA we added another bit of wall storage space with a bar and hooks under the cupboard. |
Made this luxurious Potato Dauphinoise with 2 types of cheese, onion, bacon and double cream – YUM! |
Got the giggles trying to give the Buddleia a haircut – my neighbour, on the other side of the fence, chopped of huge branches while I tried to catch them and mum (who was visiting for the day) caught it on camera! |
Said tree, took up most of the garden… |
A few hours, a borrowed saw and using the secateurs later it was all in bags- BIG bags! |
Photographing the spring flowers took up a good part of my day… |
I sorted out the ‘sensory corner’ and planted some summer bulbs in the ground and pots |
Raked the pond (to clear the pond weed)… there is already frogspawn about! 🙂 |
I made my first roast! |
And enjoyed it with a friend in the garden!! |
We decided to start quilt making together! |
Which we then could finish by ourselves… I LOVE quilting! Definitely a blog coming up on that! |
Then I used the roast leftovers to make a pie… Hobbes was with me the whole time! Awwww |
I’m still working on my presenting but I made leaves for my puff pastry top! |
The summerhouse has been neglected over winter… it became a storage shed so a spring clean was in order! |
There was so much to sort… |
I had to carry on through the night! |
But now its clear I couldn’t be happier – I needed a cup of tea and a slice of my homemade lemon cake! |
We found this at the end of our road and I had to have it so even when it didn’t fit in the car, Stephen and I walked/dragged it down to our garden with a lot of ‘agh there’s a spider’ moaning from both of us on the way! |
So I cleaned it up (with the hoover- those spiders needed sucking up!) and gave it a couple of coats of cream wood protecting paint… I did try and use the sprayer but it was appalling and made a huge mess, as you can see! Luckily I have a pressure washer and those are all weeds! |
And while the paint was drying… I tidied up our other storage shed and found lots more spiders!! |
So that was my week, condensed!
Tomorrow I’m hoping to start building some raised beds out of wood pallets and then I can begin my vegetable garden!
I’ll keep you in the loop!
Love and laughter,
