Introducing… Sophia Sew-a-long!

Howdy all!

I’m so happy to host my first sew-a-long with Simple Sew patterns and Love Sewing Magazine! Issue 19 of Love Sewing Magazine is out now and comes with this fantastic pattern ‘Sophia’ by Simple Sew which is a lovely 2 piece outfit- a gorgeous pleated vintage style long skirt with pockets and a great simple classic cropped top. Both are super easy to make and I’m here to hold your hand if you need it or just throw some inspiration your way to make your Sophia!

Over the next few days I will post a new bit to make your very own two piece outfit in a variety of ways. The schedule for the sew-a-long is:

1. Inspiration – lets get some ideas for our Sophia!
2. Fabrics & Notions – lets work out what you need and choose your fabric/s!
3. Sizing, Cutting Out & Marking – finding the right size for you, cutting the pattern, fabric and transferring the markings.
4. Making the Top – Applying interfacing and sewing up the top.
5. Skirt: Part One – Making the pleats, sewing the pockets and side seams.
6. Skirt: Part Two – Adding the wasitband, attaching the zip and hemming the skirt…Finishing!
