Well hello you lovely lot!
I have to be super quick as I’m on tour and off to Glasgow any minute now but I wanted to make sure I got in my weekly blog!
I’ve been loving being a part of So Zo’s Me-Made-May – this whole month I’m trying to wear at least one homemade garment 5 times (or more) a week. I’ve been good and stuck to it so far, been posting daily outfit pics on my instagram, connecting with lots of lovely sewers, made new stuff to wear and it’s been going really well – I’m so happy to be a part of it!
What I’m wearing (From left to right)
FRIDAY 1ST MAY: Casual Trousers (hack of jumpsuit) from The Great British Sewing Bee: Fashion with Fabric in lovely light jersey from Abakhan
SUNDAY 3RD: Just sewn dirndl skirt from a vintage tablecloth – £2 at a charity shop
MONDAY 4TH: Upcycled strpiey knit dress – bought on Sunday at car boot sale for £2 but it was HUGE so I serged it to fit in about 5mins! Also wearing my staple homemade wire headband.
WEDNESDAY 6TH: My lovely home sewn button Shorts – that I blogged about here.
THURSDAY 7TH: Voting day in my Love With First Stitch Miette skirt
FRIDAY 8TH: First day of tour in my spotty Bella Dress by Simple Sew Patterns free with Love Sewing magazine
The Tuesday I was sick as a dog so lived in my PJs!
ALSO I made a secret pledge that I didn’t want to tell people about in case it became impossible for me- but so far, so good so as a performer I’m also only wearing homemade clothes for my gigs in May too…
Yay for sewing and music!
Now off to Glasgow wearing only me-mades and finishing knitting my first jumper (on the 2nd sleeve!)
Lots of love chickens!
